10/4/2025 Lots to report for the coming weeks. First, yesterday we announced that after consulting with the East Bay Regional Parks the date for the 2026 race will move back by a week to the weekend of June 13/14. There are lots of good reasons, but the best is the this is a better long term home for the race because of all of the end of the school year events that go on. I’ve gotten a fair number of ‘great!’ and a few ‘oh no’ responses. The latter have pointed out that we now conflict with the Tahoe 200. The ‘greats’ include folks like Brianna Santos and Patty O’Dea who have kids graduating from school the weekend of June 6.
We have also announced two things this last week. One big one will be the Launch Event on November 13. This will be a live-streamed event that will introduce the race and as many of the features as we can, including coaching and support. The other things we have talked about is Selection Sunday, which will be the rolling out of the first wave of runners in the Class of ’26 as we issue invitations from our waitlist. Right now we have about 200 people who have signaled interest.
