The story
Run the city, taste the brews
Beer City starts with a half marathon, 10K or 5K, or a one-mile Beer Stroll if that’s more your speed, and ends at the Shindig: a brewery party with music, games, food and the people who made the beer telling you about it.
Beer City Festival is about a lot more than beer. It’s about hard work, community and togetherness. Beer is a metaphor as much as it’s a great thing to drink. You don’t have to drink to have a great time and make lifelong friends at Beer City. It also takes you to new places to see new things.
It’s family-friendly and dog-friendly, and for a lot of people it’s their first race. Many Beer City events raise money for local causes, like Students Run Oakland and WeRockOC.
